We got a table very quickly, which was a great start, but the waiting time for the food was quite long, around 25 minutes. One of the dishes that was supposed to come “on fire” arrived without the fire. The pierogi were tasty but overcooked, and the żurek was served with only about 3/4 soup in bread. The waitress also forgot about our drinks, so we received them at the very end of the meal. The food was generally tasty and the atmosphere was nice, but everything felt very chaotic. The waitress kept apologizing to everyone around for different issues, which showed she was overwhelmed. With more staff, the service would probably run much more smoothly. On the positive side, the PRL-style decor is interesting and something different.
I stopped by this restaurant while visiting Kraków and it turned out to be a really fun experience. The place has a lively, traditional Polish atmosphere with rustic decor and a lot of energy. It’s busy, a little loud, and full of character, which honestly adds to the charm. You can tell it’s popular with both locals and tourists. The portions here are no joke. Everything that came to the table was huge. If you’re hungry, this is definitely the right place. The food itself was hearty and flavorful, especially if you enjoy classic Polish dishes. It’s comfort food at its best, rich and satisfying. The meats were well prepared, and the sides complemented everything nicely. The beer selection is also a big highlight. They serve it in large mugs, and it pairs perfectly with the food. It’s the kind of spot where you can sit for a while, enjoy a few drinks, and soak in the atmosphere. Service was efficient despite how packed the restaurant was. The staff kept things moving and handled the crowd well, even during peak hours. If you’re looking for a lively place with generous portions and a true Polish vibe near Wawel Castle, this is a solid choice. Come hungry.
